Susan,

Thanks for your thoughful comment, and your kind words!

Getting personalized blog recommendations is a great idea...perhaps for Amazon.com. I can imagine something like "Thanks for shopping with us today. You will receive your copies of Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain and Emotional Intelligence in a few days. In the meantime, why don't you enjoy sharpbrains.com/blog?"

You can also use stumbleupon.com to find random websites along categories you define.

Finally, there is a difference between keeping one's mind active and training it...we can all refine our cognitive and emotional skills. If you don't (slight sarcasm too)...please show us how you achieved perfection and write a guest post :-)

I've looked at your blog several times, impressed with the look and ease of navigation and the way you have summarized a huge amount of information and linked it for further exploration.

As for the content, I don't know much about this field but it seems to be well written and useful.

Personally, I feel as though I am already following the advice for keeping my brain active and maintaining a positive attitude (read with slight sarcasm) and I was wondering how many other readers feel this way too. Is it true that most people read blogs and news they identify with to reinforce their preferences? I must have too narrow a menu of blogs to look at -- maybe someone could build an unrecommend machine for blogs (like the one on librarything that gives you recommendations for books that are not like the one you are posting).

Hello Adrienne,

Thanks for sharing that. We are not experts on drugs but on natural exercises we can all do to train naturally a number of cognitive and emotional skills. You can find a lot of research on opiates at Pubmed
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez

A wonderful book about OCD and how we can remap our brains is The Mind and the Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force (Paperback)
by Jeffrey M. Schwartz and Sharon Begley.

I wish to know more about the latest research on opiates being used for psychiatric purposes,ie. effects on depression and OCD also about the phenomena of borderline erotomania-is this OCD?
can people relearn to remap entrenched brain locks? and can drugs - even if it takes opiates be beneficial - as training wheels to at least get the brain distracted enought to remap itself?
i know this is pyschological but I really need to understand this better and there is so little info out there on it.
