Vision
Since the 80s, accumulating research has been showing how nutrition and physical exercise are crucial to our overall health and fitness. Many of us join gyms to work out our bodies, expand cardiovascular capacity, and develop or maintain good muscles.
Now we know that nutrition and physical exercise also bring cognitive benefits. Additionally, emerging research is showing how well-directed mental exercise and emotional self-regulation are important pillars of brain health and performance. The field of Cognitive Fitness may grow one day to become as widespread as physical fitness is today. As such, we expect to see significant growth in the following areas:
- - Information and Assessments: to identify cognitive/ brain areas to work on, establish a baseline to analyze performance over time, and measure the effectiveness of brain fitness workouts.
- - Programs: to improve mental skills as needed, both improving strengths and solving bottlenecks that prevent overall progress
- - Coaches: to guide, support and tailor programs for anyone interested in building cognitive skills
- - Communities: virtual, or physical, to provide a welcoming and stimulating environment in which anyone can exercise his or her brains to improve brain health and performance
